The punishment for small theft is relatively high compared to the punishment for huge fraud. How is it justice to do so? Is it because huge frauds are always committed by rich people? Law seems to be lenient towards the rich and the powerful ones.

Law tends to punish poor people who steal small items like food for survival. Theft is a crime be it small or big. But, if the law can be lenient towards rich, why can it not be lenient towards poor who steals for day to day survival? Punish them but not severly.

These type of flaws need to be eliminated from the system.
